Beverley
Scobell is
projects editor of Illinois Issues She is in charge of copy-editing
and fact-checking and writes short pieces for the magazine
each month. In addition to overseeing production of the annual
Roster of State Government Officials, she works on
such publications as the Almanac of Illinois Politics
and Governing Illinois for Center Publications, the Center for State Policy
and Leadership. She received bachelor's and master's degrees
in English from Sangamon State University (now UIS) in Springfield,
and worked on various contractual projects for the magazine
and the university, including both editions of Mostly Good
and Competent Men, the history of Illinois governors.
She joined the magazine on a permanent basis in 1991.
